Terms of Use

Effective August 28, 2026 · Last updated August 28, 2026

These Terms of Use govern access to and use of Our Parish Voice (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself and the parish or organization you represent.

1. The Service

Our Parish Voice provides software for Catholic parishes under two products: (1) OCIA operations, including inquiry intake, candidate accompaniment, sessions and attendance, tasks, formation content, readiness tracking, rite planning, team access, and related communications; and (2) Digital Bulletin (BulletinOS), including bulletin PDF ingest, content extract, layout, share pages, and newsletter export. The Service complements—not replaces—your parish census, giving, or diocesan systems.

2. Accounts and eligibility

  • You must provide accurate account information and keep credentials secure.
  • You must be authorized by your parish to create or administer a workspace.
  • Parish administrators are responsible for inviting, removing, and assigning roles for staff and volunteers.
  • You may not share login credentials or allow unauthorized access.

3. Trials and subscriptions

New parishes may receive a free trial as described at signup. After the trial, continued access may require a paid subscription or other agreed arrangement (for example, invoice or founding parish terms). Fees, plan features, and billing periods are shown at checkout or in a written order. Unless otherwise stated, subscriptions renew until canceled. You remain responsible for taxes applicable to your purchase.

Our Parish Voice is operated by Cake Slice Creative, LLC. Charges on your card statement or invoice may appear as Cake Slice Creative or OPV (not only “Our Parish Voice”).

4. Acceptable use

  • Use the Service only for lawful parish ministry and administration.
  • Do not store information you are not permitted to retain under parish, diocesan, or civil rules.
  • Handle pastoral notes and sacramental preparation details with discretion.
  • Do not attempt to access another parish’s data, disrupt the Service, or reverse engineer the platform.
  • Do not upload malware or content that infringes others’ rights.
  • Do not upload password-protected files, malware, or bulletin content you lack the right to process or publish.

5. Customer data and ownership

As between you and us, your parish owns the content and records it enters into the Service (“Customer Data”). Customer Data includes uploaded bulletin PDFs, extracted blocks, and published bulletin pages. You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display Customer Data solely to provide and improve the Service. Our Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal information.

5A. Artificial intelligence

Digital Bulletin may use third-party AI (currently Anthropic) to extract text from a bulletin PDF or to draft copy. Output is an aid for human review. You are responsible for checking extracts and drafts before you publish or send them. Do not upload a file you are not allowed to process. We do not warrant that AI output is complete or error-free.

6. Confidentiality

We will treat Customer Data as confidential and will not disclose it to third parties except to service providers who need it to operate the Service, with your direction, or as required by law. You agree to keep non-public features, credentials, and other users’ information confidential.

7. Availability and support

We aim to keep the Service available and reliable, but it is provided on an “as available” basis. Scheduled maintenance, third-party outages, or events beyond our reasonable control may interrupt access. Support is available at support@ourparishvoice.com.

8. Intellectual property

Our Parish Voice, including its software, branding, and documentation, remains our property (or our licensors’). These Terms do not transfer ownership of our intellectual property to you. Feedback you provide may be used to improve the Service without obligation to you.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it replaces pastoral, canonical, or legal judgment.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE (OR ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID FEES).

11. Indemnification

You agree to defend and indemnify us against claims arising from your Customer Data, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law, except to the extent caused by our willful misconduct.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms, fail to pay fees when due, or create risk to the platform or other customers. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends. Sections that by nature should survive (including ownership, disclaimers, and liability limits) will survive.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless a different governing law is required for your parish by applicable statute. Courts located in Cook County, Illinois will have exclusive jurisdiction, except that we may seek injunctive relief in any jurisdiction.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms by posting a revised version with a new “Last updated” date. If a change is material, we will provide reasonable notice (for example by email or in-product notice). Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
